Tournament Rules

16th Goofy & Frenz Charity Golf 2020

Tournament Format & Rules
16th Goofy & Frenz Charity Golf 2020 consisting of a single round of 18-hole shall be played in System 36 Stableford format in accordance with rules of golf approved by the R&A and Local Rules of NSRCC Golf Club.

Format of Play – System 36 Stableford
Each player shall record only his/her GROSS score for each hole on his/her scorecard (Note: Players are not required to calculate or record their nett strokes or their stableford points)

The system will then assign Merit Points to the golfer for each hole, based on his actual gross less the par for that hole.

Double bogeys or more => 0 Merit Point
Bogeys = 1 Merit Point
Pars = 2 Merit Points
Birdies = 3 Merit Points
Eagles = 4 Merit Points

Golfer’s handicap is then computed using the formula:
Handicap = 36 minus Sum of Merit Points (18 holes)

For example, a golfer who plays level par for every hole will have 36 Merits Points and his /her handicap will be 0 (36 – 36 = 0).

A golfer who bogies every hole will have 18 Merit Points and his/her handicap will be 18 (36 – 18 = 18).

The System will then use this computed handicap to compute the golfer’s stableford ranking.
